The HERMetic Sampler GT is designed for connection to 2-inch HERMetic Compact Valves using suitable adaptors and incorporates a 30 m / 100 ft graduated measuring tape for sampling-height measurement. The sampler uses a robust construction incorporating AISI 316 stainless steel, PTFE, and PVDF, with FKM gasket material for the standard GT configuration.
Core Working Principle
The HERMetic Sampler GT operates through a closed, gas-tight tank connection. The sampler housing is mounted on a suitable 2-inch HERMetic Compact Valve using an appropriate adaptor, allowing the sampling operation to be performed without directly opening the tank to the atmosphere.
The selected sampling bottle is lowered into the tank using the graduated measuring tape to the required sampling position. Depending on the selected bottle, the system can obtain zone, spot, bottom, or running samples, providing flexibility for different hydrocarbon sampling requirements.
Once the sampling bottle has collected the required liquid, the sample is transferred from the sampling bottle into a laboratory bottle. The HERMetic Sampler GT uses gravity-based transfer through the sampler’s special distribution block, providing a straightforward method for transferring the collected sample for laboratory analysis.
The gas-tight construction helps avoid pressure release and vapour emission from the tank, while reducing operator exposure to fumes during sampling. The graduated tape also enables operators to determine and record the sampling height inside the tank.
